| I filed a bug on this back in November, #4354310. It's currently marked as a duplicate. All indications are that Apple isn't interested in Cocoa-EO anymore, which I think is extremely disappointing. But considering that WebObjects 5 included the removal of Objective-C support, and that consequently Cocoa-EO apps require Cocoa-Java, which is also not being supported beyond Tiger, it's not totally surprising. I think the most likely possibility would be for this functionality to be added to Core Data at some point. I for one would really like to see that (and so would a lot of other people; just Google "Core Data MySQL").

What I get is a Internal Error dialog with a Uncaught Exception:

As do I. Any ideas on how to get this to work? I did check and it seems like the template files are in the required library directories.
On my OS X 10.4.5 system running WO 5.3.1 and Xcode 2.2, /Library/Application Support/Apple/Developer Tools/Project Templates/Application/Cocoa-Java Application/CocoaApp.pbproj does not exist which explains the exception. CocoaApp.pbproj is the project file for Project Builder and some earlier Xcode versions; the Xcode 2.2 template, CocoaApp.xcodeproj, does exist.
I copyied CocoaApp.xcodeproj to CocoaApp.pbproj, then created a new project. This worked but CocoaApp.xcodeproj was copied to the project in addition to the new project file package. I merely deleted CocoaApp.xcodeproj without apparently affecting the project.
So the creation of a Cocoa Enterprise Objects application seems to be broken. If this type of project is important to you, file a bug. But I don't believe that Apple is really supporting this project type. Several members of this mailing list have made such projects work by solving several other glitches, but these projects may not work in the future.
