I do this stuff with db results of 10.000+ rows - no problem at all. Only the current batch has to be computed (20 rows for most cases here). So why confuse the user with a feature that is just not available for some of the rows?

And a page that can't switch to "batching" result sets if the computation is to expensive is considered a bug in my opinion.
