For these things, there is Wonder's ERXWOTemplate and ERXWOComponentContent. It kind of makes your head explode when you use it first, but with these you can have multiple component contents in your wrapper that get filled out by designated areas in the "real" page.

I actually downloaded the latest version and started looking through the code. Haven't gotten far yet; work related tasks consume so much of my free time. :-)

Just make sure you use a nightly build from Mike site. I will probably make a new binary release in the next few weeks, but it depends on how much comes up. And with the nightly builds it's not so pressing anymore anyway.

You should really take a look at the new Ajax stuff, it's pretty cool and offers a lot of possibilities. Oh, here's a cool Ajax-based app I've stumbled across:
