Hi, I've got two PowerBooks running WebObjects both with exactly the same OS and software versions. I'm working my way through various tutorials at work and at home but one machine runs considerably slower than the other. Slow enough to make it almost unusable. Both machines build the applications fine but the slow one spends an age "contacting localhost" when it fires Safari up also each subsequent page hit takes about five minutes to load. I've copied projects across to the faster machine and they run no problem. Anyone got any ideas where I could start looking to chase down the problem. I've been through the log files that I know of - HTTP access/error/asl.log/system.log - but no clues as yet. I'm thinking that JavaMonitor may be of use but the word "tutorial" at the start of this rant should be a clue as to my level of WebObjects experience. The other clue is that I would like to say a big thankyou to everyone who replied both on and off list to my last email about WebObjects training.
Oh as an aside - Chuck if you read this how's the book going? I've got it ordered at Amazon which is telling me delivery by August 3rd. I only ask 'cos I'm going to book a couple of days off work to go through it and learn stuff and I need to put the request in pretty soon.
