I was thinking that it was crazy that there was no way to set that configuration in the tools, so I did some followup today. It turns out that the displayGroup configuration dialog contains a "Qualification" pop-up. There is where you set "prefix", "contains" or "suffix". I had never really understood what that pop-up did. Hope this helps someone else! Incidentally, on the displayGroups that I changed to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the .woo the pop-up correctly displays "contains".

From the WebObjects Builder User Guide under "Configuring Display Groups":

"When fetching objects that match a query, choose a qualifier from the Qualification pop-up menu to narrow the query. Choose Prefix to match the beginning of an attribute, choose Contains to match any part of an attribute, and choose Suffix to match the ending of an attribute."

Do you mind if I ask how you figured that out?

Although I rarely use WODisplayGroups, I do recall that their configuration is stored in their component's *.woo file.  So I temporarily added a WODisplayGroup to one of my components and looked at the *.woo.  Bingo!
