10.4.7, XCode 2.3, WO5.3.1

After a long while of not using WO, I've recently had to open up a few old projects for updates. My current machine has 5.3.1 (only) installed, so I thought I'd check it out.
I created a new component, then added an existing component to it. Upon trying to save it, I consistently get the following error:

Unable to create backup file for <path/to/component>
Error removing

After clicking OK, and then heading back to XCode, I get another dialogue stating that the component can no longer be found, do you want to Save As,
Re-Save, or Close. No matter what I choose, the component is deleted from the file system. Actually, just the .html, .wod, and .woo are gone; the jave and api are still there. This happens with
my own custom components as well as the Apple included ones. I love Subversion...

Has anybody else had this happen, and are there any workarounds/solutions? I mean aside from following Chuck's "....5.2.4 Lives" technique?

I can't believe I'm saying this, but this is starting to make Struts/Hibernate (forced upon me by the "boss") look good;-)

Bill
