I don't think it is all that bad. A better statement is probably
"spend some time learning about all of the features of Eclipse so you
can be even more productive in it". You can do a lot without knowing
too much, but you can do it much faster once you learn some of the
shortcuts. I have been using it for years and still learn something
new every week.
On top of that, I didn't really come from a java development
background so all the talk of Maven, Ant, etc. is somewhat
intimidating as well when I think of all the new stuff I'm gonna
need to understand.
Ant is useful to learn. Maven is not needed at all.
When there's time I am anxious to begin moving. Might be good if a
person in my position were to write the mentioned documentation -
not that I'm volunteering yet. :-)
Janine Sisk is also looking at doing this. Maybe you can collaborate.
