A couple more things that might work for you:

- modify the EOModel at runtime by removing the entity you don't want EOF to know about. I doubt this will work, but it's worth trying

- more likely to work is to redesign your app so that the entity in question is referenced as an interface. In the apps that need the entity to be an eo, then you use your eo implementation of the interface -- otherwise, use the non-eo implementation
