I'm guessing that no-one who hates the all-in-one approach has also tried the Eclipse 3.3 releases? Hint: try the "Detached" view for each tab...you can't do it for editor windows (which I hope is just a "not yet" issue), but I've currently got my main editor open on one screen, the console on another and other detached tabs on the third.
