That's entirely possible ;-)

This makes a question go round in my mind:
was it an intelligent move, to move out WO from its X-centrism?

Yes. Xcode is not a Java-centric IDE. Java developers need a proper
Java IDE as WebObjects is not the only Java platform in town.

I meant, while from WO4 to WO5, WO changed from being done in Objective-C, to be done in Java.

Yep I thought when you referred to 'X' you were referring to Xcode. I wasn't in the WebObjects game for the Objective-C days but given the breadth of libraries available for Java I'd say it was still a good move (and I do prefer ObjC as a language in many ways).

all that effort could be putted in ... in something else, right?

By whom?

Do you know who maintain the project?

Yes, (though anyone can contribute)... but your question assumes that Apple hadn't decided to deprecate the tools or give WO away for free.

I repeat, only 12% develop outside OSX --- why should we worry that
much about them ;^(

Because WebObjects deploys to any platform. WebObjects should
therefore be developed on any platform.

mmmhhh
