From 2.2 the "proxy" system (which is part of Apache's distributed
source) has included support for the AJP protocol directly. I think
this was not the case in 2.0 though. The other way to use AJP with
Apache is to use "mod_jk" ...
While you can use mod_jk with any version of Apache 1.3 and higher,
it's more straightforward and probably more efficient to use
mod_proxy_ajp and mod_proxy_balancer with Apache 2.0.x, unless you
need some of mod_jk's arcane features that are not replicated in the
latter two (more modern) modules.
mod_proxy_ajp and mod_proxy_balancer have become part of the standard
distribution of Apache 2.2.
