Note that I didn't *recommend* it can be used... only that you can try it if you really want to. Given that you're new to this, I think you're making things harder on yourself than they need to be. But it's entirely up to you - just wanted to clarify where I stand on that.

Yes, David I've get through your tutorial (among many of others) just to get where I'm now. I could almost finalize the conversion of my project starting whith an empty ERD2W application created following your instructions.

I discover the recommandation about 3.2.2 only lately (by default I always install the latest stable release of the products and did not see this advice in the first place). I also now have downloaded the 3.2.2 but not yet finalize the setup because doing all that twice the same week without any candy in between was beyond my will :-). But I've seen in the new tutorial of Janine yesterday that perhaps the 3.3 Classic could be used so I try to get at some point with this.

After sending this post I found the SQLExplorer plugin presentation on http://www.sqlexplorer.org/. After installing it and setup the connection, my project is now communicated with the database...

Thanks everybody for your tutos and the support given in this mailing list.

David,

Have you gone through the Eclipse/WOLips tutorials? <http:// wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WOL/Tutorials>

I have put up a tutorial specifically for getting started with ERD2W on Eclipse <http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/ WONDER/Create+a+new+Wonder+Direct+to+Web+Application>.

Also, the recommendation is to use Eclipse 3.2.2 and the stable release of WOLips until Mike or someone else gives us the go ahead to make the switch. You may find that eases your pain. In particular, you need to use EntityModeler <http:// wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WOL/Using+Entity+Modeler> which is part of WOLips to create your connection.

I suspect it is more a problem with Eclipse 3.3 (or my lake of skill on this platform) than really WO but as I've been advised here to better use Eclipse/WOLips/Wonder rather than XCode I submit the post here...

try to convert an XCode project in this environment. I finally achieve to build it but not to launch it as I can't connect my project to my existing MySQL database (v5.0.37). In fact, I don't know where and how to configure the connection (as I do in EOModeler with the localhost:portnum/dbname and user/password and the JDBC MySQL Java connector ).

It seems that I have to setup a connection profile by using (at least it's one possilbility) the Dabasource Explorer. But when I go through the different screens and click on Test connection or Finish, nothing happens (and there no error anywhere). The screen just remain on screen unchanged...

I'm very close now to return to XCode where I get no problem (without any particular training nor support) to complete my first own D2W project (and many other sample projects before) so I can go on with the learning of the WO framework rather than losing so many time struggling with the tools...
