So I finally upgraded to Leopard and installed Xcode 3 and WO 5.4. I
know I need to get the 5.4 Wonder frameworks, and I know I can't use
migrations until 5.4.2. But is there anything else I need to get
back to work? An updated version of Eclipse and/or WOLips? And are
there any other major pitfalls I should be wary of?
I believe WebServices are sort of whacked out until 5.4.2 ... SQL gen
is the #1 issue that people will run into, though.
I have a blog post on the wonder blog from last week or the week
before about the latest round of 5.4 compatibility fixes in Wonder --
you should definitely read that ( here: http://projectwonder.blogspot.com/2008/04/this-week-in-wonder.html
). The largest change recommendation is that if you are using
ERXElse at all, you should switch your WOConditional to
ERXWOConditional ( http://projectwonder.blogspot.com/2008/04/this-week-in-wonder.html
) to future proof your apps. If you use wo:if/wo:not/wo:else with
WOOGNL, this internally already uses ERXWO* versions automatically for
you.
The other one is mixing frameworks that use WO 5.4 inline bindings
with WOOGNL inline bindings. As the core frameworks don't use inline
bindings yet, I don't think this will be a problem in 5.4.1, and I can
neither confirm nor deny the existence of a solution for this problem
in 5.4.2.
