Yep, I'm not sure why maven's pom insists on having the version of a
parent defined. I would have thought it could be inherited. Swings
and roundabouts.
FWIW, the release plugin does this for you, so it's not like you have
to change each of 'em by hand. Just looks a little more noisy in the
change-log.
