OK, stubs are compiled., and have started rewriting the client code to use the axis stubs instead of cxf stubs already ...... I will do a unit test first with test data to test my axis stubs and if successful, then integrate into my WO project... I will let you all know how it goes.

PS. It was easy to tell Eclipse to compile with 1.4 .... I'll figure out the ant build.xml tomorrow, but if someone feels kind enough to give me a hint

Got the axis 1.1 download and have generated java stubs using its wsdl2java class. .... the stubs don't compile in java 1.5 due to the use of "enum" in the org.apache.axis.enum.* package.

How did you get around that .... or are you on java 1.4?

axis1.1 is what I've linked against. I believe later versions are incompatible - at least for wsdl generation.
