Yes I should be clear that this works really well so long as the
schemas are on the same db/box (or appear to Oracle to be on the same
box.)

Set "myscheme.mytable" instead of "mytable". You only have to make
sure that the database schemes are readable vice versa (select
rights, at least for Oracle).
