AjaxModalDialogOpener has an action binding, use that to set an instance to
your component for the AjaxModalDialog to use.

Something like:

 <wo:AjaxModalDialogOpener dialogId="removeAMDID" label="Remove" action =
"$setSelectedItem"
   class="button" />

Then you operate on that "selectedItem" instance.
