I've installed Frontbase on a remote windows machine (at amazon using AWS) and can control it via Frontbase manager (i.e. connect to machine, create databases, start and stop them, create tables, and add data all via FBManager).

However, when I try to us WOLips EOModel SQL generation, I get this message:

"Failed to generate SQL. Unable to find type information for external type 'varchar' in attribute 'externalName' of entity 'Customer'. Check spelling and capitalization."

Well the spelling of varchar seems to be correct and looking in FB it lists the type as all lowercase. It seems that EOMdel SQL generator is asking FB what types it supports and does not find a match to varchar and won't create the SQL.

This same process works fine on a local FB installation on a MacBook Pro.

*** UPDATE ***
Just figured it out but thought I'd post anyway in case this is a bug or it can help someone else.

It turns out, strangely, that the Windows version uses uppercase and is apparently case sensitive, while the Mac connection seems not to care.

Best,

Drew
