If you are just starting out, you may want to consider using Scala, rather than Java, from the beginning, <http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WO/WebObjects+with+Scala>. Hardware choice doesn't really matter and WO shines in terms of scalability. It is only easy if you use it the way it was mean't to be used... Welcome to WebObjects!
