Better is quite a subjective thing!
Doing it at the EOAccess level has the advantage of no dict -> object 
conversion overhead.
It also has the disadvantage of no object behaviour... ;-)
It's the only way that I know to 'stream' data from the database and process as 
you go...

If you don't need the object behaviour then go EOAccess.
If you need the object behaviour then try ERXFetchSpecificationBatchIterator in 
ERExtensions.
