Argh! I'm an idot...respectively the suffocating heat turns me into one (lame 
excuse, but it puts me down).

I'm using frames, which are the problems main cause (not the double-clicks). 
One frame contains the applications navigation, if clicking on a hyperlink in 
that frame, the content of another frame changes, but the navigation frame is 
not reloaded (so far so good). If clicking on another hyperlink in the 
navigation frame before the other frames content is loaded, the request will be 
processed by the application indeed, but the response can't be accepted by the 
browser. I think this is it.

Even if I haven't deserved one, I'll go for a ice cream now.
