Hmm. Well, I looked at that link, and found multiple other links to other pages, all of which seem to assume a base level of deployment knowledge of what needs to be done. It does seem that turning off DirectConnect might be useful for development, assuming I can continue to develop the rather complex series of apps we work on once that is done. However, I am really starting at a novice level, and am finding it hard to find the basic foundational info I need.
e.g. step 1: Configure your Apache to use mod_WebObjects or the cgi-bin adaptor I don't know how to do that. The next several steps are equally unclear to me, being a non-deployment person. (the "profit" step I think I can get) I found an old "Legacy" pdf on deploying WebObjects from Apple, and found some pages on how to do it with Snow Leopard, but as one of the machines I would be using has Leopard, I have idea whether I should use this. Apparently, this is all very easy, assuming you know where any of it is. I will look at the ancient pdf, and hope that not much has changed, I guess. I was just hoping there was a step by step, "this is what you need to configure on a plain vanilla OS X client box to get a plain vanilla WO app to run" set of instructions somewhere, with explanations for why one would change whatever they are changing. I will dig I guess. Thanks for your help. On Aug 20, 2010, at 11:50 AM, Pascal Robert wrote: > >> Hmm. I'm not really a deployment guy, that's one of the things I hope to >> learn from WOWODC.
