I recently upgraded to an HDTV Bravia and fiber connection with HD TV channels. I can see the actors skin cells now! :D But yes, I still remember the B&W TV and VHF/UHF reception. There was a button in the back of the TV that controlled the vsync (if you didn't get it right, the image would be scrolling up or down). I loved to tune it to the point where the image would be cut in half and the black separation bar hanging there right in the center of the screen.
