I think the directory just have to be writable by the user that runs the wotask app. Check in the monitor the real path for the log file (Monitor -> Applications -> App Detail View -> Config -> Output Path) and test if the file has be created. If not, probably is a permissions problem, try first to add the full perm at the directory and see if it works.
