it seems that versionStringForApplication and versionStringForFrameworkNamed are broken. They should look in Info.plist for CFBundleShortVersionString. Use valueFromPlistBundleWithKey(NSBundle.bundleForName("JavaWebObjects"), "Info.plist", "CFBundleShortVersionString")
