It's a tough decision. Running the community is not free, there are cost involved and the only revenue we have it the memberships. Early access to the videos is a significant incentive to purchasing them.
The pessimist in me says that the ship has sailed on enlarging the community to any great degree. Certainly not to the point where risking the benefits that the WOCommunity org brings by sabotaging it's revenue stream makes any kind of sense. Some videos are always released immediately after WOWODC for free, and community members are always welcome to create their own and post them anytime they want. The current rules still make sense to me.
