In your properties file, you can put

# Secure Session Cookies
er.extensions.ERXSession.useSecureSessionCookies=true

Or you can override useSecureSessionCookies in your session class. You might 
also be interested in useHTTPOnlySessionCookies. That is static for some 
reason, so it probably only works via property.
