A good place to start digging into the past is
www.peanuts.org
which contains a huge NEXTSTEP/OPENSTEP FTP archive.

Subject: Looking for older web applications...

Folks,
I am looking for versions of older web browsers for research. I used to have
copies of apps like SpiderWoman, and OmniWeb beta 1. and others, but have
long since deleted.
Now I want them back! The earlier the better!
I'm looking for old code, very old app binaries and just general information
about the first browsers. Especially dates of certain events...dates of
major web sites coming on line, even dates of protocols and other stuff used
from the technical side of the development.
Since the first browsers were NeXT apps, there are some very early examples arou
nd.
I am researching the very first years of the web, from the NeXT perspective,
and am interested in any input from the folks out there regarding the early
days of NeXT browsers, HTML and whatever you think is significant!
Thanks for any leads!
