Hey guys,

A feature missing from our application is a middle tier for
communication and synchronization of changes in eos across all clients. When
we first started hearing about WOF 4.0, there was some mention that this
might be an included feature. As near as I can tell, we were misinformed
(not by anyone from Apple). I'm guessing that the EODistribution layer was
being regarded as a middle tier but, unless I am missing something, it
appears that this framework does not propogate change information but is
responsible for transporting objects from an objc server environment to a
pure java client app. Is this correct?

If so, it means we're back to implementing our own solution. I'm
sure someone else has gone down this road, and I would love to hear about it.
As a start, we've considered using simple DO connections to send encoded
globalID information from the clients to the middle-tier server and vice
versa. If anyone cares to comment on whether this is a particularly good or
bad approach, I would appreciate hearing about it.

Thanks,
Paul
