Actually, they have deemphasized the programming language issue in later revisions
of the class...
The Java required in the class is pretty trivial. You will definitely be able to
keep up in terms of understanding or, even, writing it.
However, you will likely find WebScript to be the most productive choice for any of
the front end code and most of the EO work. WebScript in 4.0 is truly a scripted
ObjC-- it has all the exception handling and subclassing/category capabilities of
ObjC. Since it is interpreted, you don't have to even restart the app to see
changes (unless you are making changes to EO business logic categories, the session
or the application).
