They are likely to use a series of underscores or hyphens in the popup (I don't think there are any appropriate HTML tags).
Beware, though, that some browsers (namely OmniWeb on Openstep) are not able to display separate popup entries with identical text string (if the popup list contains two or more identical fields, only one of them would be shown. In order to excuse the fabulous people at OmniWeb; I'll have to add that my understanding is that this is a problem of the Openstep UI widget (and not of lousy programming from OmniWeb).
