Hi Green, interesting points. It seems like it'd be pretty easy to add "middleware" to do the multiple DB connections and running certain code on every request.
I had to drop the Cheetah integration to add internationalization > support - Cheetah supports the _ function, but only in precompiled > templates. What I'm more interested in is the above. We're hoping to add Unicode support to microPledge soon (we use web.py+Cheetah), and I suspect making Cheetah work might be harder than getting web.py on board. 'Scuse the ignorance, but what is the _ function, and why does it help with i18n?
