Fixed! Forget about this people.
The problem was that instead of
>>> file('output', 'w').write(i.file1.file.read())
it should be:
>>> open('output', 'w').write(i.file1.file.read())
I updated the cookbook, it was from there that I got this mistype:
fout = file(filedir ...) -> fout = open(filedir ...)
