One big problem of web.py compared to Django/Pylons/web2py is that it's still poorly documented, there are no books about it, etc. So adoption rate is not just about displaying the apps, but also how well people understand it.
Anyway, I suggested a web.py 'gallery' as you aptly named it, because it would allow people to make submissions without waiting on the administrator to approve them. That could accelerate the process, that's all. For the record, I don't really care that much about web.py being popular and all. Let people use whatever they want, I don't give a shit. What I'm more interested in is what other web.py users are doing.
