There's quite a difference between "MVC pattern" and "MVC framework". You can follow MVC using any number of techniques and libraries in web.py, but web.py is decidedly not an MVC framework. Even if you got SQLAlchemy and Mako, you still need to glue the pieces together yourself so that M is aware of V, C is aware of V and M, etc...
