I don't remember exactly why, but I also had to use the template.py
hacked by jeyun because of an error I was getting ( see this old
thread ).
So in order to avoid any other inconsistencies I simply stuck with
jeyun's fork.

So you now use the latest version of webpy along with jeyun's
sessions? ( Only this file? ).
