To save us all the trouble, here is a brief summary of the thread that
may arise out of this discussion:
* Andrei voices preference for Reply-To to go to the list
* Others (myself included) voice preference for replies to default to people
* Someone inevitably quotes "Reply-To munging considered harmful" and cites:
http://www.unicom.com/pw/reply-to-harmful.html
* Someone else retaliates with "Reply-To munging considered useful" and
cites:
http://www.metasystema.net/essays/reply-to.mhtml
* Someone calls someone else names
* Someone else calls the original poster names
* A community member interjects a plea for "can't we all get along?"
* Everyone with a personal preference makes their own personal
preference known claiming that surely they know best how everyone should
use email.
* Nothing useful happens
* Lots of noise happens
* Hopefully someone calls someone else a Nazi, and the thread ends with
no useful outcome and we stay with the status quo.
* 4 months later: lather, rinse, repeat as desired.
cheers,
steve
