What is it with you and an affinity to thin ice? ;-) The current homepage graphic has lots of whitespace to the right hand side. I think that this could be utilised buy a rolling "Hot News" section, replacing the "Announcements" and "Events" sections further down the page. Actually there is too much flat text IMO on the homepage. Obv a makeover is a major undertaking; so maybe as Glynn says, links rather than details are the way forward - one web designer said to me that no homepage should ever have to be scrolled down to access all the information behind one way or another.
