As a result of the Oracle acquisition of Sun the website team has been
engaged in a substantial data center consolidation that will affect all
of the infrastructure and applications supporting opensolaris.org. The
work has already begun and involves multiple data centers and multiple
physical moves, and all of the applications on the site will experience
brief and scheduled outages over the next six weeks.
We are making every effort to maintain core operations during these
moves to minimize the effect for users around the world, with the goal
of making the majority of the work invisible to the community. However,
when we do have to bring down applications we will make announcements on
opensolaris-announce and website-discuss approximately three hours
before each move. We ask for your flexibility during this time, and
we'll wrap this up as soon as possible.
