Mmh, I thought a bit about that. The "badge" itself is usually separated on pages having some own "margin" to other elements. Maybe we can reduce the margins within the badge to efficiently use the space ... but in this case, the borders and the background need to be (nearly) equally colored. Is that something that might work (asking you without providing a demo-badge, sigh)?
