I noticed that you didn't use "correctly scaled" images, and did not
use the insert-image function to scale the images, but instead
manually specified image width and height for the ones at the top

This is not necessary (and probably should be avoided).

When you insert a scaled version of an image, silverstripe will create
and save a scaled image, so that the browser doesn't have to scale it.

And the screenshots could be turned into using colorbox (i.e. in-page
fullscreen popup instead of opening the image as a seperate URL,
replacing the current page)
