I'm a bit surprised to read that - did anything change after the SC call two weeks ago [1]? "This team should act as some kind of catalyst, guiding people by giving advice instead of taking control, so that people are encouraged to join the website team." According to this "role", if somebody asks for some UX advice [2] covering Information Architecture, Information Design, Usability and such stuff, then I'm happy to discuss these ideas among the things I've provided on this mailing list and in the wiki. And yes, there are numerous things to improve that will make users happier when visiting our site.
