Hello, I just got this feedback via e-mail and thought I'd pass it on to this list.
Thanks, Florian -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Download - "Safe for ... most users and enterprises" Date: Thu, 10 Nov 2011 11:12:32 +1300 To: [email protected] Hi Florian, Thanks for your regular updates on the announce list, much appreciated. Just a little confused about this message attached to a *final* release on the Downloads page mentioned in your last email. "LibreOffice 3.4.4 Final (2011-11-09) Safe for production use by most users and enterprises." Is the phrase - "Safe for ... most users and enterprises" - explained any where please? In what circumstances is the Final release "not safe" for some? Or should that standard release message, when dealing with a Final, be changed to something else? I Realise you may not immediately know the answer, but believe that it is important for the prestige of LibreOffice in the general public's eyes, that messages about safety, not cause any reluctance with people, when there is no further explanation given, and so the public can not find out if they are one of the people for whom a LibreOffice "Final" would, by direct implication, *not* be safe for them to use. I sincerely hope that this email helps advance the worthwhile cause of LibreOffice Thanks again, -- Florian Effenberger <[email protected]> Board of Directors at The Document Foundation Tel: +49 8341 99660880 | Mobile: +49 151 14424108 Skype: floeff | Twitter/Identi.ca: @floeff -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to [email protected] Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/website/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
