Little bit of additional info/corrections.

We were just in the process of migrating the stuff over - all that was
missing was creating a current database dump to not loose the
last-minute edits that were done before the annoucement.

To avoid any additional edits on the new server, and edits on the old
one, both were put into maintenance mode - so no edits get fogotten,
and no edits will be overridden.

But then the announcement did kick in and really brought the old
server down to its knees, even when the webserver was shut down (and
dns already pointed to the new server) load would not go down. I
assume some kind of kernel bug or other misbehaviour, as neither the
wiki nor the mail website didn't do anything. Despite that we had a
load of over 30 and we didn't want to kill mysql to avoid breaking
table integrity... So we decided to sit it out and wait... That
unfotunately did took rather long...

But all's well that ends well :-) The new server performs really nice
after some initial tuning

The result is only spoiled by piwik (that is still running on the old
server) - otherwise complete page load would be less than 1s.

ciao
