I have some experience with django. What exactly in django are we wanting to upstream?

I'm not really sure what these "wishes issued" were, so I don't have a good picture of the total amount of work we've layered on top of the official source. I don't have much experience with Django, but if there's a repo available with our local changes, perhaps I or other members of the community could help with some of this porting/upstreaming burden?
