I find it a little odd that is easier to find the founder's email addresses (and email them and get a response) than it is to post a question on the forums website.
I guess you are talking about AskBot (ask.libreoffice.org), not the forums? Or are you refering to the forums?
About these, I can't comment much, as they are still in testing mode. About AskBot:
First - it appears that you can only log in via federated login mechanisms. It would be an understatement to say that I find such
Sadly, this is due to one of AskBot's current limitations. One could create new accounts without e-mail verification, however, we are legally required to have these (double opt-in). As long as there is no solution to that problem by upstream, we can only rely to the current form of login, even if that's a bit unconvenient for some users.
Second - since I can't ask that question without logging in, I attempted to use the site feedback mechanism to ask. You use reCaptcha, which is utterly useless. These tests are always annoying and when so stringent
Same story here, I fear - it would require someone to improve upstream AskBot to support other Captchas or mechanisms. That being said, we had a hard time in the wiki with finding something appropriate, and whatever we do, it will always be inconvenient to some.
Sorry I have no better news at hand at the moment.
