SO > when 4.1.6 comes out - that will be listed as "Fresh"? No - 4.1 branch is stable. Just because 4.1.6 is a new release within 4.1 branch does not make it "fresh." The number of commits that make it in 4.1 branch currently is much lower than those that make it into 4.2 because they go through additional testing to avoid (or try to avoid) introducing regressions into 4.1 branch.
