Emptying cache was not tried. I will do so next time; leave for month long biz trip on Tuesday thus
have no more time for a test. Sorry!
In my case no attachments were made. Observed the same bug before but after the new homepage was
live. Also in the earlier case I did not have attachments.

NO REPRO on Ubuntu 12.04.3 + FF 27.0.1. Was able to file a bug w/o
running into 502 Bad Gateway error:

Scratch that -- if I try to upload an attachment during the
bug-filling process (kudos to Dennis R. for the hint :-), I can repro
this problem.
