I recall you have a fast uplink - can you try uploading a, let's say, ~30 MB file? If that works, then the limitation is not on the upload size, but the timeout. Just thinking out loud. ;-)
Apart from that, I think Eliane wants to release the magazine soon. Would it be possible for this time that she offers the file somewhere (ownCloud, some other storage) and you can manually upload it, so she can release the file? We then can see where the limitation comes from in parallel.
