Agenda
======
* AskBot → Discourse migration: done, some regression fixes pending still
(mostly related to QnA workflow)
- multisite deployment, so in principle it should be quite easy to deploy
other sites such as community.documentfoundation.org to have a web-based
discussion platform (possibly bridged with mailing lists)
* PiTR:
- Brett: AFAIK barman can't replicate asynchronously, on second thought we
might be better with manually (via cronjobs or systemd.timer) archiving
PostgreSQL's WAL files
- Brett: biggest concern with Barman: poor/unclear documentation (eg
synchronous-only nature is unclear from the docs). learnt the hard way
that Barman appears to be useful only in scenarios when no data loss is
ever acceptable and recovery should be done in a matter of seconds
- Guilhem: would like to move the RDBMS to a central host in the future, but
in the meantime we don't need failovers (when pg is down it's either
because an upgrade is underway, or because the host crashed in which case
the services aren't accessible either)
- Brett: using pg_basebackup on the target can help with detecting corrupted
files, but we'd want to check restoration on a timely basis too; maybe not
re-producing dumps though as that might be really slow with large databases
- Transport can be done via rsync or sftp -- pull-based or push-based
- AI Brett: PoC for etherpad
* OpenVPN: could deploy a modern server on the new jumhost if needed
- cloph: not urgent
* tb69 (mac tinderbox) autogen/configure issues re m4
- XCode update without running it once to install commandline bits (ldd
missing)?
- re-enabled for #98930, passed
* pending/in progress:
- gerrit upgrade 3.3 (AI guilhem in August)
- mailing list import
- firewall refactoring (AI Jonathan)
- node monitoring
- mirrorbits
* Next call: Sept 21 at 18:30 (to be confirmed due to proximity with LibOCon)
